So? I don't know why there's a map vote in the first place. FL survived for years on V2D and 33X. Things only really got bad after the split with another community.

Just because democracy is the best form of government, doesn't mean it should be used to choose a map. If FL stuck with one map, people would get used to it and play it more often. That's what happened with V2d and 33x.

But surely the most voted for map is the ones the current active playerbase want to play and are so going to play it? Force a map on them they dont want and eventually they get bored and stop playing. If players wanted other maps so bad they'd vote for it.

Civic duty is a problem in the real world and I'm sure it is worse on FL.

I'd say less democracy, less opinions. More action. All these opinions and the willingness to listen to them is what is holding FL back at the moment. V5P is a good example.
