Half-Life: Alyx

Fans of the Half-Life series have been waiting for a new game in the series for over a decade. In the past, there have been various leaks and bits of code suggesting a VR game set in the Half-Life universe, and on November 21st, Valve finally released an official announcement trailer for Half-Life: Alyx.



Half-Life: Alyx will be a prequel to Half-Life 2, where you'll be advancing through city 17 as Alyx Vance. The game is supposed to take place about 10 years before the events of Half-Life 2, so we'll be able to see how the Combine actually created such a strong presence in City 17. 


The game is already available on Steam for pre-order, and the full launch will be in March 2020. 

Personally I am very interested in seeing the game in VR. It seems to be the first real AAA game made specifically for VR. The environments look incredible and the setting is very interesting as well since you'll be able to see the earlier days of the Combine occupation in City 17. 



Also like previous games, Half-Life: Alyx will ship with its own modding tools, this time for Source 2 engine. Personally I am excited to see what the community can create, and I'll see if I could create something in the Source 2 hammer as well.

I am pretty disappointed about that. 

I have been waiting for another half life game since the last one came out. And then they release a new one on my birthday.
