I respect your second point, but the problem was souls lack of motivation and it passed down, it will be a step by step process to get this back and only Soul can do it, he has to light the fire, and keep the ball rolling.

The community is your best friend in times like this but it has never been used so i think its time to use the community as you wont have it if this carries on.

Yes, that hit the nail right on the head.

A survey like this is definitely a good way to grasp a majority community consensus in my opinion, so my thanks go to Soul for conceiving the idea and bringing it to fruition so quickly.

Personally, I do think it would be beneficial for the community to make the results of the survey public (keeping anonymity, of course), or at least the exact numbers on some of the most key/controversial issues, so that it doesn’t seem like important aspects are ‘brushed under the carpet’ for a lack of a better expression.

A problem shared is a problem halved and all that. If the results are shared within the community it will show the whole community what needs working on and what the common ground is. If the results are kept quiet, how will we see if changes are being back and like you said... Shows us 'that it doesn’t seem like important aspects are ‘brushed under the carpet’ for a lack of a better expression'

I was thinking of ways it could happen. Maybe have a unban period. So most recent perm-bans are not wiped but bans from idk pre-2019 are? If there is a ban wipe made currently, the server would be a mess. So the admin team would need to step up and take charge. We need a more dedicated staff team. The team atm is weak. The ammount of inactivity is insane. I log in and I will see the same names every time. This people have hearts next to their names. Some admins, not mentioning any, will come on and do nothing or spawn a large dupe casuing lower end pc players to leave due to FPS issues and then just leave the server. Promote the players who have stuck by FL even when there is 10 people on.
yeah man including strike, he never minged etc, he got banned for something he didnt do and most of our bans we're from when we just got gmod, 12 of my bans was from when i was 12. i couldnt regret it more. Strike even got banned for something he didnt do which is just bullshit.

I agree definitely for the multiple choice questions, and then maybe a general gist of anything else said.

I think one more way you could tackle a ban wipe is, people apply for one. It would be very hard to construct and there would be a hell of a lot of submissions. But then admins and staff have more control over what gets wiped etc.

Exactly. Soul’s original post does seem to imply that the results will be shared, so if that is the case, I definitely look forward to seeing them.

Some big questions were also mention on the survey that spark discussion;

Quote:Should casinos be banned from the game?

Should they?

Quote:Do you like our map or would you rather play on another map?

This question is a hot pick. I have been part of FL for a while. No map will ever, ever, compare to v2d. Some hate it, but there is a very large margin of people who love it. Those few weeks when Fl put v2d as its map. The servers were full. I was queuing to join. If you dont want to change the map. Start another FL server and put v2d on it. See how many players join. It is an iconic map. Perfect size. People screamed that there isnt enough spots to roleplay. Who can honestly say they have made a roleplay in one of the many stores in San Ranevo? I hardly see any roleplay. Just see people stood in the plaza doing nothing. Smaller map, more FPS and more RP. V2d proved it.

Quote:Who should decide about new team members?

I think their should be some sort of community vote. The people know who would best suit the roles. Admins are not allows on to watch the players. Some players are on every time I log in. Listen to the community and put trust in them to do right.

I think if all this goes correctly this could give quite a good insight into the pressing issues the community have. Obviously there is no guarantee all that is wanted will go through however seeing how everyone's suggestions are expanding on and voted on will be quite beneficial. Not only will this be insightful to Soul but also the team as well as the playerbase.
