You still interfered with their building by being in the area and building very close to their walls. My opinion at this point remains exactly the same. When a person asks you to leave their build alone, you should. Especially when they appear frustrated and tell you that they will contact staff if you don't. They obviously didn't want you there and you basically decided to ignore their request and continue hindering their building.
