This is my first guide ever and I hope I get everything right, if something is wrong, or I am missing something, please comment on it and I will get it fixed. Thank you.

Presidential RP Guide

Section 1: Summary
As president, you control the city by making laws, addressing issues, making negotiations, and controlling your law forces. Of course, this job isn't as easy as it sounds. Because the president is what we call a "high value target", many people want to find ways to raid and hostage him/her. You have a variety of security and police units at your assistance and they are required to listen to you as long as your requests are "reasonable". Because you are the president does not mean you can break laws you set. The job is tough but fun and rewarding if you RP through it and make the right choices!

Section 2: Law Making
Of course, the main point of the president is for laws to be created and the city to be controlled. Every one of your laws can become active as long as it doesn't require people to do/not do a certain thing and face death. Of course, when they are raiding or in other extreme circumstances, killing is an option but it is a last resort. Laws are announced using the /broadcast command and then typing the law you would like everyone to see. Broadcasts are a great way to get information out for free but should't be spammed too frequently or used for pointless messages. Broadcasts are required to be repeated every 10-20 minutes or so. Good ideas for laws are:
*Speedlimits
*Gun Laws
*Speech Laws
*Jailtime/Bail Laws
You can think of more if you set your mind to it! You cannot make any laws saying that if one person enters the town they will be killed. However, you can say "If *rebels* enter the town, they will be *arrested*." Laws that are broken are to be addressed by your police squad and not by you directly. You as the president shouldn't even have a gun out. Broadcasts are also a great way to organize events and such. Example: "Attention Citizens - There will be a speech at BP in 5 minutes!"
TIP: Use /broadcast formally and you will look more professional. You will also be thought of as a "better RPer". Good example: "Evening Citizens...". Bad Example: "Hai guys! How r teh citizens?"

Section 3: Protests and Warnings
Occasionally, a protest will occur against a law asking for change or even resignation of the current president due to a law that person has made. These can be handled many ways. First off is the direct approach. These are the most dangerous but the most effective. You walk outside, talk to the protesters and ask what you could change, and then decide based off of what you think is best. However, if you have done something bad enough to a certain person that gives them a reason to raid you, and you walk outside, the odds are something bad will go wrong. Another way to address it is through the /broadcast command. You can defend the law you have made against protesters, offer change, or even threaten arrest of the citizens who stay. You cannot arrest unless you say in /broadcast something like "Protesters who refuse to leave will face arrest!". However, after that you must give time, you cannot say the advert while standing at the Nexus front door, then 3 seconds later run out and arrest everyone. Nor can you arrest with out a /broadcast warning! You cannot do it in any other chat. The final method is bringing who you feel to be the "leader" of the protest into your office for a discussion. You can have them cuffed and brought up for your safety if you wish. Members of the Special Service can accompany them as well. Again, you do not have to change any laws unless told by admins, but defending a law to the point of extreme loss or aggravation calls attention to raid and hostage of the president by the protesters.

Section 4: Controlling the Squad, Demoting
You as the president, control many other government figures below you on the corporate ladder. You can contact everyone who is in the government (officially) at once by using the /radio command and typing your message after. This is how what we call "warrants" are communicated to you. When necessary, you will receive a warrant request asking to warrant someone for a search/arrest. You are required to either accept or decline these and cannot let them pile up. You have the right to say "reason for warrant?". It is a good idea as long as the officer is telling the truth. This sends out the message to all the police, SS, and Nexus secretaries. You can use this to hear what crimes are in action, who is requesting to come up, and who needs to speak with you. You can use it to issue men to where they need to be and speak regarding presidential visits. The /radio command is designed for government communication and is not a "hidden OOC". If someone in /radio is telling you, say, about breaking NLR, you should report it to an admin. The government units are required to listen to you as you are the president and you have the right to demote them if they don't You demote someone by typing /demote *NAME*. You must have a reason for this. A valid, RP, reason. Demoting an officer because you have a friend who wants to be cop is not acceptable and will be dealt with by admins. One member of the government and another are not allowed to kill/intentionally shoot eachother under any circumstances!

Section 5: Raids, Protection and Bases
You have heard me mention raids/hostages several times already. The president is one of the top people raided because they are reliably in one spot and that is their spawn office. This is even more common when the people have something about the president that the person(s) dislike. Again, this is why you have security. They are there to fight the battles while you hide in your office. During a nexus raid or other major event, you can type /lockdown to initiate a lockdown. These prohibit people from a certain place (by default the town) and are usually followed up after in /broadcast. End a lockdown by typing /unlockdown. You need a reason for a lockdown, and if you take the proper cautions, you will never need to initiate one. Just as the security, a good base is equally important. Good tips for base building are:
*Cover all glass and transparent things
*Make the door be locked and keypad accessible
*Use a prop/material which makes the prop "one-way"
*Make sure the prop can withstand bullets
*Make more than one door to protect yourself (not in sequence/directly behind eathother.)
