RE: Farming at Connectivity - Pollux - 10-02-2021

We've discussed this suggestion and have considered all opinions stated on this thread. We have decided to decline this suggestion after a majority of the development team voted no with community votes being mixed. The following was brought up in our discussion:
  • Public areas were never intended to be a safe zone for something that makes as much money as farming.
  • Farming being in public areas allows people to AFK-farm without any concern, it's clear the immunity of the area caused people to abuse it. It also restricts RP.
  • Farming in non-public areas doesn't force people into aggRP, it's due to people doing things such as contraband or being heavily armed alongside farming. Mugging is hardly a concern due to how low the limit is per 15 minutes.
  • Connectivity not initially being added as a non-farming area is due to an oversight on our part, it was meant to be one from when we swapped to V5P.
  • Connectivity is a high-traffic area, a large concentration of people farming there may cause lag for people going past.
  • People basing in connectivity has caused obvious confusion from the community on what can be done there, with several people breaking crime in public rules unintentionally.
The connectivity being a public area rule may be contested as a separate suggestion, that wasn't considered in our discussion due it being a separate topic.

Suggestion Declined

I understand this denial is going to be a bit controversial, however I do hope everyone can see why we've decided to deny it. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
