Scotland: Burns Night & Haggis - Marty - 01-20-2018

In Scotland every year on January 25th we celebrate Scotland’s very own poet who wrote masterpieces such as “wee timid beastie” “Tam o’shanter” and wrote Auld Lang Syne.

The main man, the bard from yard, the poet who most certainly did know it. Robert Burns.

Now this isn’t a history lesson about him. Because he was a trumpet, but it’s about the day.

On Burns Night Scottish people eat a traditional Haggis Neeps & Tatties.

I would like to talk to you all about the mysterious Haggis, plural ‘Haggi’

What is a Haggis ?

Glad you asked, the haggi are a wild animal native native to Scotland that can be found up in the Scottish Highlands. A myth surrounding Haggis is that different species of the Haggis have different sized legs which makes them be able to run faster up the sides of hills etc which is their natural habitat, this is a rumour and is false. Haggis are nocturnal creatures who very much like their privacy. Because of their size and habitat you won’t naturally see them throughout the day.

Spoiler: What does Haggis Look Like

How to Catch Haggis

I’ve found this guide to be the most straightforward and in depth guide for catching Haggis, although every hunter has their own methods.

Do You Have Any Experience With Haggis ? I’d Love To Hear About It

Not similar at all as Haggis is actually an animal.
