From what I have gathered, the services are being attacked, wait for an official announcement.
EDIT: Lag has stopped, are you still getting issues?

It's definitely a DDOS attack. It's not as bad as it was atm.

TS has been going up and down for about an hour. Not happened in a while though.

What you (and probably everyone) was a "DDOS" attack.
It doesn't happen often but when it does, everyones ping goes up really high.
If you dont know what a DDOS is, or if you think it's something else check out this thread:

It always takes some time for the attack to stop and there is no real way to stop it besides waiting until it's gone / finished. (Dont quote me on that)
Either way, if it happens again just wait a bit and check the server every now and then and it when it's over you can play again like you always do.
