when I go to join the server using the bars at the top it opens a grey box what say server not responding

Just spam on "JOIN GAME" and you will join if you get a connection to the server.

I see you tried joining V2d that server sometimes crashes as it did yesterday. If you click on the "join game" repeatedly you will be able to select an option "automatically join when slot available" or you could also just spam "join game" try the other server v4b1 with the IP 149.202.65.127:27030

Server might have been down at the time of you trying to join.
There are several other ways to join our servers some of which King Kickass has explained to you.
I personally have no issues with this however you can easily just join the old fashion way which is by starting up your game and looking for Fearless.
If you don't do this out of being lazy you can always add the Fearless servers to your legacy browsers.
