He certainly did NOT stop and call a medic, I was left there with 4 hp to bleed out.

Judging by Baloo's reaction it doesn't seem intentional. Along with the fact he called a Paramedic.
This "bug" happens to me sometimes. I use Shift + E to get into my car whilst still holding shift as I get in. The nitrous initiates and it's a panic moment considering the car is driving itself.
