SweetFX - Rylund - 12-03-2014 Here some days ago I found out you could use SweetFX for GMOD, I've been using this extension for CSGO for a long time both while playing competitive and community casual - Which I love to use. My question is, if it is allowed to use this on FL servers? Basically it installs a few files in /Garrysmod and /Garrysmod/bin folder. I asked Mavis if this would be allowed, and he weren't sure if these files where scanned while being on FL. Quote from Readme file: "It does not modify any game files either on disk or in memory. Instead it uses a custom Direct3D runtime dll which the most DirectX games will call." Link to extension/mod: http://csgo.gamebanana.com/gamefiles/3415 (It's for csgo but works for Gmod aswell) The files this installs: d3d9.dll - DirectX 9 proxy dll that will inject shaders into DirectX 9 games d3d9.fx - DirectX 9 specific shader code dxgi.dll - DirectX 10/11 proxy dll that will inject shaders into DirectX 10/11 games dxgi.fx - DirectX 10/11 specific shader code shader.fx - Alternative DirectX 9 specific shader code for FXAA support. injector.ini - Settings for the shader injector dlls Screenshot how it makes my gmod look: [Image: ca910c4162.png] RE: SweetFX - Burnett - 12-03-2014 This should be fine. Its just a proxy between your graphics card API (DirectX) and the game. |
