Summary: Apparently the president was "gonna die" (perhaps from starvation) so he said the police sergeant should take his role. This was all done in IC by the way, so I suppose the president could get a penalty too for metagaming. The sergeant then attempted to kill the president with a pistol to take his role. When he found out that didn't work, he attempted to prop kill the president by smashing him with a small plate. The president then just decided to switch jobs.
