Solving Blue Screen of death on Windows XP start up. - CrAzyWirE - 06-16-2011 Hello guys, im now playing FearlessRP but im stuck so i was bored.. waiting to get killled. well im asking if you are facing a Windows XP Problem. i have used windows XP for at least 7 years, so yeah i bit know some of its bugs ![]() so i wanted to share a solve for a problem you might face in the future if you use windows XP. If you turn on your computer, and windows started loading with it's loading logo. after a 5 seconds a Blue screen of death show's up thats what you do : Restart the computer and press F8 quickly untill a menu shows up. After that select safemode - with internet or Without. After that it will start loading .sys files which is Drivers. it will stuck on this file sptd.sys then press Space to ignore the file and keep starting Windows in safe mode. after that(when you are in windows in safemode) you go to computer then go to C and go to Windows then go to System32 after that go to Drivers search for the file sptd.sys remove it, REMOVING THIS DRIVER WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE DAEMON TOOLS, this is daemon tools driver. in order to daemon tools work this file most be exits. but you must remove it if you dont want a blue screen of death. after removing the driver file "sptd.sys" reboot the system. Windows should work well after that. File location : C:/WINDOWS/System32/Drivers/sptd.sys RE: Solving Blue Screen of death on Windows XP start up. - CrAzyWirE - 06-17-2011 Why nobody really Reply this time ? RE: Solving Blue Screen of death on Windows XP start up. - dryblood321 - 06-17-2011 Because everyone uses Vista or 7 ![]() RE: Solving Blue Screen of death on Windows XP start up. - CrAzyWirE - 06-17-2011 (06-17-2011, 09:58 AM)dryblood321 Wrote: Because everyone uses Vista or 7 Same here, Windows XP started to be VERY Buggy last years, Trojans, viruses, Shit addons all the time.... Windows 7 Is brand new... and its like ignoring viruses i love it ![]() RE: Solving Blue Screen of death on Windows XP start up. - Jamisicus6 - 07-15-2011 The issue with that fix is that it only works if Daemon tools is causing the problem. If its, for example a graphics card driver corruption then removing SPTD.sys will not help and will only server to make daemon tools not work. Fortunately in your case Crazywire the error was not system related and could be bypassed. I had a BSOD error a few years back when I was still on Windows 98 (back in the day indeed) where one of the critical USB drivers was stuck in an infinity loop (trying to open itself, leading to it opening itself etc.) which was preventing any kind of boot up. I think the driver was mup.sys. If anyone has this problem, I really feel for you, because the only way I found to get round it was a complete system reinstall. Just because you have Windows 7, it doesn't mean that somebody can't trojan your computer. You just have to be smart when downloading stuff, problem fixed.
