Which upgrades? - Animus Vox - 06-23-2013 Okay, price isn't really a giant issue, it's just which one would do the best. I want to know: 1.) Which one would probably last longer 2.) Which one is really worth my money 3.) Which one would be able to run those extremely graphically inclined games on ultra settings? 4.) If you could upgrade something in one of these builds here, what would it be? Builds: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/19vZ5 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/19wf2 With those, I will be running Windows 8 and a 500GB Hard Drive if that really deters anything here. Thanks for the help. RE: Which upgrades? - Matt W - 06-24-2013 Both of them won't be able to run intensive games at high graphical settings, I threw you up a build that's as good as you're going to get under $600 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/19S2F For gaming, throw as much money as you can at the graphics card. If I was you though, I'd save a little more and upgrade to an I5. For gaming, you still want a decent CPU and for a lot of games now they require atleast an I5. RE: Which upgrades? - Animus Vox - 06-25-2013 Well, I would really like to stay AMD, as Intel products are overpriced as f*ck and don't do more than AMD products. I want to keep the 4170, as I have wanted it for a long time now, but what graphics card would you buy to go with it? Also, I know almost nothing about motherboards other than PCI Slots and stuff. I'm not sure if the one I have on the AMD build is very good or not, but if not, please redirect me into the direction of a fairly decent one. AMD Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/19O5R RE: Which upgrades? - Matt W - 06-25-2013 (06-25-2013, 04:07 AM)Animus Vox Wrote: Well, I would really like to stay AMD, as Intel products are overpriced as f*ck and don't do more than AMD products. That CPU looks fairly decent from reviews/graphs but that graphics card will not be able to run graphical intensive games at high settings. Aim for at least a Radeon 7870 or GTX 650ti RE: Which upgrades? - Animus Vox - 06-25-2013 Awesome! I added the GTX 650ti to my build! One more thing, would that motherboard be fine for future gaming? RE: Which upgrades? - Gower - 06-25-2013 Your 650ti won't be able to run the next gen games. RE: Which upgrades? - Trevor Jackson - 06-25-2013 I'd stick with the AMD build you've made. Games today are requiring at least 4 cores. To get a dual-core now would be shooting yourself in the foot, even if it's an Intel. Upgrading the graphics would help, but with that budget you can't get a computer that will run ultra on games for years. I also noticed your build did not include a hard drive, do you have one to put in it once you get it? EDIT: should have read the post first XD |
