Safe Server Restarts - Int64 - 07-02-2012
Title of Suggestion: Safe Server Restarts
Description: When the server shuts down, it should:
- Add weapons the player is 'using' back into the inventory.
- Refund players who have contraband. For example, $1000 refunded for every money printer he has spawned.
- Add Kevlar back into the inventory if being used.
- Add seeds/pots back into the inventory.
- Refund $y amount of money for every bullet he has, y being equivalent to how much one bullet of it's specific type costs.
- "It's unfair for IC to be hurt due to an OOC event."
Please don't reply with "Contraband is a risk you take buying." like Nevinator did, he is right in that statement, but a server restart shouldn't be one of the risks. It should only be raids, robberies and other RP related risks.
Note: If you don't like contraband, weapons, ammunition et cetera, go make a suggestion for the removal of them, which I highly doubt will pass because it will remove a lot of RP from the server. I seriously don't want to hear any bitching.

Contraband is still a risk even with this feature, it doesn't make it impossible for them to be detected or anything. The police can still raid them and players can steal from them, which will pose a more valid risk. Is it not unfair to lose contraband due to a server restart?

The server doesn't "know" that it's just crashed. It crashes, and anything that happened within the last minute is not saved; and even even if we could get such a system created, it would most likely be exploited to help players earn money quickly.
