It's annoying because;
New people post on old topics in which they have/had no business , thereby bringing the thread to the top of the forum,
being an old topic, the thread is considered dead. Suddenly it comes back to the top of the forum when nothing really happened.
That explained why it was so annoying, but I don't really mind either way.

How can pple know if it's a dead thread? Only admins can post if a thread is closed. I say if the thread isn't closed it's OK to post.
