Crashing when connecting to server - SilentGamer - 04-27-2012
Hello, I have been experiencing problems with connecting to both the v2d and the v33x servers over the last week. To begin with, every time I tried to connect to either server a warning appeared saying something along the lines of "Could not connect - server does not have same tables" or something like that. Now, I no longer have that problem but instead I connect to either server, download all the files and it gets to the point where it says "sending client info", about 30 seconds into this point Garrys mod crashes.
Assistance with this issue would be appreciated, thank you.

Try to either join an empty server, just one with few downloads like a sandbox or a build server. Or alternatively start a single player game first but this will mean your keypads won't work in the server.

The errors that I have mentioned only happen with Fearless servers.

I meant join an empty server first then try and join fearless and see if you can. Is it an hl2.exe error?

Open Library, right click on Gmod and select the "Set launch options" tab. Enter these without the "
"+r_hunkalloclightmaps 0 -heapsize 3145728 +cl_cmdrate 100 +myinfo_bytes 2000 +cl_updaterate 101 +rate 30000 -dxlevel 80 -w 1920 -h 1080 +mat_antialias 8 +mat_forceaniso 16"
-w 1920 -h 1080 is my default resolution. Use one that your monitor can support.

Thanks I'll try that. Can I ask what it does? It appears to be graphics modifications.
