Extremely High Ping - StillAlive - 03-01-2012
Hey guys.
Lately I've been having a very high ping when I'm gaming Gmod. It keeps raising from about 50 to 400-500. I dont know why, because I'm not downloading anything nor using other programs.
It's not happening on my Mac (well that's what I think) so I really cant figure out what's happening?

Take a look at the Task Manager to see, if there are any unnecessary programs.
If there isn't anything open,scan your PC on some virus software's.

I had like this I did "rate 25000" to console and now working fine

Perhaps the high ping is due to your location in relation to the server? I play from Australia and my ping is constantly between 250-325.

It may be your internet, i live in a valley with allot of fog...
And sometimes the connection gets really crappy down here.
I am not saying that you may be living in a valley, but if there is fog or bad weather, the ping will go up. I wish you the best of luck.
EDIT: And to Defrag would maybe help, i am not a genius but it should help ya.

Try restarting the router :c

Be sure not to be in Australia, that normally fixes my ping issues.
