Metrics, Skills, Achievements Framework & Fishing Update
Dear Community,
We're excited to announce a new update: Metrics, Skills, Achievements (MESKA) Framework, and an associated Fishing Update.
MESKA tracks player development and skills over time, tallying up actions performed and rewarding players with achievements for meeting certain criteria. It also provides a system for progression with levels and experience, tying in to other game features, such as Fishing. In future, we are planning to expand this to Cooking, Farming, Mining and more.
A huge thank you to Burnett, Faustie and Bambolicious who originally worked on this system at Limelight.
Achievements
Several achievements have been added as part of MESKA, most of which will be visible in the F1 > Skills menu so that you can strive for them, however some are hidden and are only shown once you have unlocked them. Most achievement criteria will be an even playing field for old and new players alike, with tracking of data only starting once MESKA goes live, however there are a few which will be unlockable for action taken before the update such as the ones unlocked by Playtime.

There are 3 achievement types:
Minor - Small Reward
Major - Larger Reward, announced globally
Chain (Unlocked by having all achievements of a certain type) - No Reward, Announced Globally
Rewards are currently only monetary, however we will be looking at where we can best introduce item rewards for achievements when MESKA is expanded to other gameplay systems.
Fishing
Fishing has been updated to utilise MESKA. We've ported the Limelight fishing update over, which introduces Leveling, XP, 3 rods, bait/lures, and several new fish. Some fish can only be caught using certain rods/bait, and some of these rods/bait are not usable until you reach a certain level. All of your fishing progression will be visible in the F1 > Skills menu, so you can see your progress as well as view a handy fishing guide.
