Corrected that.

Thank you. I've learned not to use an 'a' in front of a word that starts with an H.

But that's not right.

Only use an in front of an H when the H is not pronounced.

So still using SA's example "I should have been here an hour ago" is correct, but-
"I'm going to go look at a house" is an exeption. Because you pronounce the
H.

So words such as Hour, Honest, Honour all have silent H's so you can use an.

But other words like Hair, Heist, Harry etc are all pronounced, so use A

I hope that helps.

What do you say in real life: "Oh my god" or "Ommuguh"?

RE: Grammatical Geniuses - Fultz - 07-03-2012

I personally can't stand "rofl", "omg" , and for the most part "lol"

I have never been in a conversation with somebody that used those three abbreviations. I have never heard someone say "lol" or "rofl" instead of laughing and if they did bad things would happen to them.

It won't kill you to just spell them out. It is honestly around 10 more presses of different keys.

Nope, you should write "I" instead of "i", "laughing" instead of "luaghing", and my fingers are never going to be hurt by doing so. My keyboard, on the other hand...
