RE: Happy 5th of November (Guy Fawkes night) - Warior135 - 11-06-2012 Well, I let off a 100 shot fire-work and lit a few sparklers ![]() Though- WHY THE F*** DO PEOPLE THINK THE V FOR VENDETTA MASK IS WHAT GUY-FAWKES WORE?! HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A BLOODY MASK! (11-05-2012, 11:36 PM)GRiiM Wrote:(11-05-2012, 09:49 PM)fillehh Wrote: Well Humla, I like the gunpowder treason. And Anonymous are wearing that mask as a sign of freedom and liberty. Its because the king at the time hated Catholics, He and the 12 other plotters where also Catholics, He was just the person who lit the fuse. RE: Happy 5th of November (Guy Fawkes night) - Killjoy - 11-06-2012 Actually, Warior135, That mask is known as the Guy Fawkes mask, it's not something he wore, it's a recreation of his face, [Image: 220px-Guy_Fawkes_by_Cruikshank.jpg] Also, Fawkes didn't light a single fuse under the Parliament building, he was caught guarding the gunpowder barrels. It's speculated that Guy Fawkes wasn't even exactly aware of the treason fully, but just a pawn in the operation. The masks and all come from the movie V for Vendetta though. V did take upon himself the Guy Fawkes theme when fighting a dictatorship in the UK and actually blowing up the Parliament building. Nobody's relating to a Catholic plot to take over the British government when they put on the mask and gather in public or mess around on the internet - they're actually relating to V's statements of ideas being bulletproof and his lone fight against a fascist regime. Let's not forget the grand finale, where everybody showed up with a black rope and the Guy Fawkes mask. All in all, I only see one rather notable act from Guy Fawkes himself - on fix execution he jumped off the stage, committing suicide. RE: Happy 5th of November (Guy Fawkes night) - William Lionheart - 11-06-2012 Remember , Remember the Fifth of November , the gun powder treason and plot. I see no reason why it ever should be forgot. Sorry i reply late but i was enjoy V for Vendetta last night :p All Hail Britannia ! I always loved Britannia but now even more since I've recently found out I've got British blood :p RE: Happy 5th of November (Guy Fawkes night) - Warior135 - 11-06-2012 (11-06-2012, 08:34 AM)Killjoy Wrote: Actually, Warior135, Yes, But with him guarding the barrels when they had been rolled into the cellar, When everyone was in parliament, He was going to set-off the fuse.
