And how the banana can religion make you smarter?
Do you magicly get more IQ by discussing religion?
I think I missunderstood.

Grant you a wider perspective on life, the universe, how the world and different cultures work? Many, many, many, many, many cultures are built on the foundation of their religion.
Religion and universe doesn't really mix.
But anyway, I get your drift. But I still see this thread as stupid.

You have a very narrow view of religion, then.

You do. One of the fundamental requirements of a religion to be a religion, is how the world was created and thus, how the universe was created.

Also, read up on "Scientology", a religion ALL ABOUT the universe.

Well it's just as well that religion has a really narrow view of the universe.

Sorry, I just had to say that.

On topic: I don't like religion. It may have been very helpful with development of civilizations centuries ago but I think in today's age where we have scientific theories on things like how the universe was created and plenty of evidence to back them up I don't see how religious people can reject them. In my opinion, religion only seems to be slowing down progress. Well, whatever works for them is fine as long as they don't try to force their religious beliefs onto others.
