A Ddos attack is when a person sends out files that infect other computers. These infected computers known as "bots" or "slaves" are what is attacking the server. You cant catch a ddos'er as if you traced the attack you would just get the innocent person who is infected with a virus. The only attack you can trace is a DOS attack which is one computer. Dos attacks are normalley confused with Ddos attacks but they are completly different.
