The average life span of someone with ALS is 2-3 years and the government give the ALS foundation $60million a year for their research on ALS. Honestly, not to be a heartless monster, but I don't think $50 million will do much now if the guts of 80 years of research hasn't helped find a cure, considering the closest thing they have to a cure is a drug that makes you live a few more months. And that YouTuber, while she appears to have a heart of gold, it seems like she's just trying to get more likes and shares for her videos. Again, heartless, evil, cynical monster. Honestly, this whole thing has turned into a whole vanity project for narcissism and just to put yourself into the spotlight and make yourself seem like a saint for pouring cold water on your head. In fairness, it has raised awareness, and in the few weeks of this trend's life, it has raised over 2/3 it made the entire year before. Good job guys, but maybe you should raise awareness for a disease that actually has a possibility of being cured for good.
