I was once told it was because the cave was point which would change maps, and because that isn't enabled it would crash the server. No idea if this is right though.

Wow, imagine a huge server hosting, lets say V2d and v2p or something like that! That'd be pure awesomeness, even though that slots would have to be adjusted, and in the end, there would probably be a ton of other problems.
