I'd up the PSU a bit. 800w minimum. Also perhaps an SSD for your OS and a couple of games.

whats the difference between 500w and 800w? and ssd's cost quite a lot dont they?
after all, ive survived for 5 years without ssd's, sometimes startup is a bit slow but its fine with me

Well, one is 500 watt and other is 800 watt, and just because SSDs are expensive, doesnt mean they are nessesarily a rich man's thing. I prefer HDDs myself.

I agree with Master, I have a 1060 and a 500w PSU from Bequiet and it runs fine.

I dont think I'm gonna go with the one I have in OP anymore, I'll put it in a spoiler and update it to what I'm most likely going with.
And noda, isn't 1060 a good gpu? I'd rather not spend 70% of my budget on a 1080

I have the 1060 and it's completely fine at running my games (my games library ranges from triple A games to small indie games so). Get a 1080 if you're a "PC Masterrace!!!" person and want to rub it in people's faces.
